Is it possible to use the BAT Reverse with the magazine crossbow for hunting?

Please, note, only the standard target bolts will work with the magazine.

Nevertheless, in order to use it without the magazine, you would have to replace the trigger mechanism back to a standard one (can be purchased here:
https://ballista.co/crossbow-shop/parts/trigger-system-for-mini-crossbow-ballista-bat-reverse-edition/

And you can mount a top picatinny rail on top of that standard mechanism, if you need one (which can be added in a custom order, if you would like one).

This way you’ll be able to use it with regular bolts, such as 12.8″ practice ones, or Sting (13″-16″) hunting bolts.

Can I buy a magazine separately from the BAT Reverse?

Unfortunately, the magazine cannot be purchased separately as it requires a specific mounting that only comes as a part of the configuration.

I don’t like how my string looks, what to do?

No worries, the separation of strands in your right cable is completely normal, as it’s how the cables are built. Under tension they seem like one solid piece, but since they jumped off the cams, the tension is gone and the strands are relaxed. When you receive the press tool, you’ll be able to put on the cables and the string back on the limbs (according to the video from the prior email) and they will look and function properly.

What’s the string durability?

With good maintenance – frequent waxing and lubricating of the string and rail, the string should last up to 500 shots. Some serving separation is normal, but lubricating the rail and waxing the string will help reduce fraying.

Are the L-stock, T-stock removable?

Yes, if it’s an L – stock or Triangle stock, it’s removable. But to use the crossbow without the stock you would need to purchase a regular backgrip and a trigger mechanism.

Do you ship to Canada?

We’re currently working on making shipping to Canada available. Canadian regulations require a certain length, so we will start shipping soon. I will send you an update once they’re available if you`ll provide us with your email address.

Does BAT Reverse with magazine compatible with bow fishing gear?

BAT Reverse with the magazine is incompatible with bow fishing gear as it enables the use of the bowfishing arrows.

Which bolts for the crossbow to select: 13 or 16 inches?

13’’ is more optimal for flight performance. Since the crossbow is small, 13’’ bolts will fly better. But if the state`s policy requires 14’’, you can select 16’’.

Is there a difference in the warranty for new and refurbished crossbows?

Ballista provides a 1-year warranty for factory defects and six-month warranty for cams and limbs both for new and refurbished crossbows. The warranty does not apply to improper use, accidents, dry fires, or normal wear.

I want to switch limbs on my BAT from c130lbs to 150lbs

It doesn’t come as a configuration on the BAT regular, but the BAT Reverse is 150lbs limbs as standard.

However, if you already bought BAT regular and doesn’t want to purchase the Reverse, you can switch the limbs with the following:

Limbs (select 150lbs from the dropdown): https://ballista.co/product/limbs-for-ballista-bat/

Replacement tool: https://ballista.co/product/string-replacement-tool-for-ballista-bat/

Tutorial (Replacing limbs on Ballista BAT Pistol Crossbow):

We don’t usually recommend it, because it’s better to use the more powerful Reverse with higher draw weight (lbs) limbs for the crossbow function and buying Reverse is cheaper than buying BAT + replacement tool + 150lbs limbs.

But this is an option if you already bought the BAT.

What items to choose for hunting?

>We recommend keeping the distance up to 30 yards with the Reverse.

You can use one of our red dots or a scope of your choice, since the BAT Reverse comes with a top picatinny rail.

The bolts we recommend for hunting are the STING 13″ bolts available here: https://ballista.co/crossbow-shop/accessories/ballista-sting-hunting-bolts-for-crossbows-ballista-bat-pack-of-6/

If your state requires longer than 13″, you can choose 16″.

To add weight to your bolts, for extra penetration, you can upgrade your STING bolts with these stainless steel penetrator inserts: https://ballista.co/crossbow-shop/accessories/stainless-steel-penetrator-insert/

And we recommend using Fixed Blade broadheads for best performance.

What are some popular accessories for the BAT and BAT Reverse crossbows?

When you buy one of our crossbows, there are several popular accessories you might consider to enhance your crossbow experience:

  1. Hunting 13″ bolts
  2. Penetrator inserts (stainless steel) for hunting
  3. Practice 12.8″ bolts
  4. Bottom picatinny rail for different equipment
  5. Bowfishing kit (or arrows separately)
  6. Red dot (scope)
  7. Folding foregrip (needed with bottom picatinny rail)
  8. Folding stock (for improved shooting accuracy and stability)

These would be your go-to accessories with our pistol crossbows, making your shooting experience comfortable and fun, whether you’re practicing, hunting, or bowfishing. Find more tutorials in our User Manuals and Videos section.

What kind of targets would you recommend for the crossbow?

If you’re looking to buy one of our crossbows and start practicing, we have great targets available in our crossbow store:

  1. BIG SHOT IRON MAN 18” CROSSBOW HIGH KINETIC ENERGY TARGET
  2. BIG SHOT PRO HUNTER 18″ BROADHEAD TARGET

When practicing, a target that’s too stiff could cause the tips of your crossbow bolts to come out. Hence, choosing the right target is essential to ensure the longevity of your equipment and enhance your practice sessions.

Can the Ballista BAT (120lbs) be customized with 150lbs limbs?

The standard configuration of the Ballista BAT crossbow doesn’t include 150lbs limbs, but the BAT Reverse model comes with 150lbs limbs as standard. We recommend buying the BAT Reverse if you’re looking for a crossbow with more power, especially when hunting.

However, if you’ve already bought the Ballista BAT crossbow and are not looking to buy the Reverse model, you do have the option to switch out the limbs. Here’s what you would need to get from our crossbow store:

*note that the products listed above are only compatible with the Ballista BAT crossbow model.

To guide you through the process, we have a tutorial on how to replace the limbs on the Ballista BAT crossbow.

Though this is an available option, we usually suggest opting for the BAT Reverse if you’re looking for a more powerful crossbow. Its higher draw weight is more suitable for the crossbow’s function. Plus, buying the BAT Reverse from our crossbow store is more cost-effective than buying the BAT crossbow and additional components separately.

That said, the customization option remains a solution for those who already own a Ballista BAT regular crossbow.

What can I use for bowfishing with the Ballista BAT/BAT Reverse crossbows?

To get you started, we offer a comprehensive Bowfishing kit available for purchase directly from our crossbow store. This kit will provide you with all the essentials you need to embark on your bowfishing journey.

If you’re looking for specific bowfishing accessories, we also offer these items individually:

We hope these accessories will help you make the most out of your bowfishing experience.

What is the recommended hunting range for the BAT and BAT Reverse crossbows?

When you buy a BALLISTA crossbow, like the BAT Reverse for medium to big game hunting, we recommend staying within a range of 25 yards for optimal accuracy and effectiveness with this crossbow. If you’re using the regular BAT crossbow, a range of under 15 yards is best.

For small game, you might be able to extend these ranges somewhat, but sticking to the recommended distances will increase your chances of success. When practicing your shooting, you may also go beyond these limits. However, maintaining a range under 30 yards will provide better accuracy and penetration, ensuring you make the most out of your pistol crossbow purchase.

What kind of wax and lubricant should I use for my crossbow?

For a bowstring wax, the Seal-Tite Bowstring Wax is a solid option. For the lubricant, you can choose the TenPoint Premium Crossbow Lubricant. In general, most common crossbow lubricants and wax types should also fit your needs.

If you need help with applying the wax, check out the tutorial available on our website. You can watch it directly on our User Manuals and Videos page. It will guide you through the process and ensure you’re optimally maintaining your new crossbow and improving the longevity of the string.

Where can I find a pistol crossbow with a magazine?

The magazine configuration of the crossbow is now available for purchase. You can order it through this link:https://ballista.co/configurator/. This feature is exclusive to the BAT Reverse pistol crossbow and can hold up to 5 practice bolts (without broadheads). The magazine is not sold as a separate accessory; it is only available as a configuration of the BAT Reverse. Please note that regular practice and hunting bolts are not compatible with the magazine, but we do have special bolts available for it. The magazine offers a great option for recreational shooting and practice, and you can purchase this configuration directly from our crossbow store.

Can I add another item to my order if it hasn’t shipped yet?

Unfortunately, once you’ve made a purchase at our crossbow store, we can’t change the order after it has been placed. We can only edit the customer’s information. So, the best way to purchase an additional item, such as accessories for your pistol crossbow, would be to place another order.

When can I expect my order to be shipped?

Once you place an order, the shipping usually takes 2-5 days. The tracking number can be provided for a more specific time frame.
