The first thing you need to know is it's super simple to assemble. Took me about 5 minutes and it was ready to shoot. You can cock the bow very easily and release the string just as easy. If I had to list any cons its just that it doesn't come with a sight. I have my own already so it was no big deal but buyers need to be aware. I opted to buy additional bolts and have not used the practice bolts that came with it.

Don’t let this little crossbow fools you. It said and showed on Youtube that it only takes one hand to cock this crossbow. It's only true for younger guys. I’m 50-year-old, 5 feet 2 and 130 pounds. I tried but can’t never cock it without using both my leg and hand. If you are a man who is around my size or women, you will have hard time cocking it without using both leg and hand. Other than that, it’s definitely light and easy to carry. I haven’t tried to shoot yet and can’t say about its accuracy.

Some online claims can be a little questionable, but this company delivers. Assembly was very simple, requiring only a few allen head screws (they provide an appropriate wrench). My big concern was the strength required to cock the crossbow. Once again they told the truth. I could easily pull the draw. My wife needed to place the crossbow nose down and place her foot on the fishing reel bracket in order to pull it, but she did it easily using that method. The six bolts (arrows) provided are target practice only, but hunting bolts are available. The speed is astounding! It is almost as fast as my full size crossbow. The drawbacks are 1.) the price of the extra bolts - $40 for 6 bolts and 2.) you need to buy the initial wax for the strings and bolt carrier as none is provided. Neither are significant drawbacks.
TAKE SERIOUSLY THEIR WARNING AND DO NOT FIRE THE CROSSBOW WITHOUT A BOLT.

This product was only shot 8 times. There was a nick in the string so
being brand new I wanted to exchange it due to the string looking kinda frayed and didn't look new. I did try their method of cocking and slowly releasing the string back, during that process I noticed one of the strings came off the pully, trying to put it back was impossible, I did cock it to see if the string would position better. The bow dryfired on its own about 2 seconds later almost taking off a few fingers. Bottom line be careful this is not a toy. It's more powerful than you may think.

I have a very strong reputation being an honorably discharged veteran starting in 2003, and this was a hurtful disappointment. I’ll wait to see the manufacturers stance here, as I believe in due process as our constitution firmly adheres by. I’ll keep you posted.

Update** Great customer service from Ballista. They are sending a new tool and string for the rare defect free of charge. This doesn’t seem to be a usual issue, their engineers also are ensuring all future shipments can be further inspected after my photos submitted and it was very refreshing to feel like an entire team is behind you.

Bat Reverse is compatible with absolutely any scope. Red dot, optical, analog, laser, night vision, thermal imaging… Compatibility with all sights is ensured by the Weaver/Picatinny rail mounted on the crossbow.
If you don’t know which scope to use, we recommend installing the Ballista Red dot. Unlike some cheap red dot scopes, Ballista Red dot is easy to set up and its settings do not change. In addition, there are safety covers to make sure your sight glass is safe.

Ballista BAT Reverse Crossbow can be used for bow fishing by installing a regular spinning reel or a special bow fishing one.

To do this, you need to use the standard Bowfishing Reel Seat Mount which is installed on the front stop (bracket-stirrup).

But if you want the smoothest bowfishing experience, we suggest using reel bl 25 or bl 33, which can be found on our accessories page.

One of the Ballista BAT Reverse configurations comes with a magazine. It holds up to six bolts, which are reloaded automatically and allow for a fast firing sequence. Immediately after cocking, the next bolt drops onto the rail and is ready for firing. As a special safety measure, the magazine locks after the last bolt and does not allow the crossbow to be cocked again. This not only lets the shooter know that the magazine is empty, but also prevents from unintentionally shooting without a bolt – dry firing.

Of course, the magazine also has an integrated Picatinny rail, which allows any scope or Red Dot to be mounted.
