The BALLISTA STING Hunting Bolts for Crossbows are meticulously designed to offer hunters an edge in the field. These bolts, tailored for the Ballista BAT and other pistol crossbows, are crafted from carbon and feature a unique micro-diameter shaft. This design not only ensures a lightweight and durable bolt but also guarantees increased accuracy, speed, and penetration. Available in a pack of 6, they are the perfect companion for those seeking precision in their hunting expeditions.
The only ones in the world!
The one and only! The Ballista Sting is the only versatile pistol crossbow bolt on the market with a .244 micro-diameter shaft. No need to compromise between speed, accuracy and penetration.
Best penetration
Thanks to their micro-diameter, the Ballista Sting bolts enter the target with ease. Experiments have shown that, compared to standard diameter (.296), micro-diameter shafts increase penetration by up to 25%!
Use with any tips
The only micro-diameter bolts in the world that you can use with any tips. You have the full freedom to customize.
Practice & hunt
Penetrator insert at the wide part comes in a standard size, which allows for any broadhead to be used.
Reduced wind drift
Micro-diameter shaft significantly reduces the effect of wind and other factors during the arrow’s flight. Therefore, you increase the arrow’s stability in the flight and, as a result, the accuracy of the shot.
Bolt weight adjustment
You can replace the original aluminum insert with a brass or steel to increase the bolt’s weight.
Fast speed
All bolts naturally slow down as they move forward because of the friction of the air they are passing through. Micro-diameter bolts maintain their speed better during descent. For crossbow hunting, arrow speed is one of the key factors.
Don’t Slash it… Drill it
Placing more mass on the front of the arrow (F.O.C.-Front-of-Center) and the rigidity of the micro shafts improves the flight of the arrow with a “quiter” and consistent shot

Arrows have a heavy insert that accept regular broadheads. With a 100gr 3 blade broadhead it is very heavy. My Mini Striker crossbow pistol had a 4–5-inch drop at 10 yards. I found less drop using a 100gr 2 blade broadhead and better penetration. Less wind drag and cutting surface I guess. I got better penetration and less drop with William tell arrows and 100gr 2 blade broadheads on foam target.

For the size and quality, these bolts are extremely expensive. I have posted the analysis of 10 units randomly selected from 2 packs of “as received” bolts regarding weight variability in grains.
For this price point, the vendor should introduce much improved statistical process control techniques and improved processes, or reduce the price point significantly.
I have no way of measuring straightness. However, some of the bolts are noticeably not straight.

Quality , lightweight bolts. Only complaint is quite a few of the knocks loosened up upon firing , although that can be remedied with glue. Unlike others , I didn’t have success with broad heads. I tried out some cheap, $1.50 ,3 blade, 100 grain heads from Amazon and the accuracy was terrible. I think the big, 3 plane head competes too much with the 2 rear fletchings on the bolt. I’m going to try some knockoff , mechanical Shwackers from Amazon. They’re supposed to be more aerodynamic and closer to how a field point flies.

This review is on the 16” stings. I installed the 120 grain ss inserts and the added weight seems to make the 13” and 16” bolts fly more accurately/ consistently. Ive been using a cheap “THE HOLE “ target from Amazon . Advice: don’t waste your money on that target. The 13” bolts, with or without ss inserts, bury the vanes completely into the target even at 25 yards.( Nothing sticking out to grab onto to remove.) I ordered the 16” sting bolts and ONLY at 25 yards do the vanes remain outside the target to be removed This is a testament to how powerful the little BAT REVERSE is. If you’re going to target practice I would recommend sticking with the 16” stings and spending the extra money for the BIG SHOT IRONMAN target BALLISTA offers. No worries of over penetration and no ruined vanes.
